Nicolette Lambrechts moves to Canada as Vice President of Mercedes-Benz Vans

Vice-President of Mercedes-Benz Vans South Africa, Nicolette Lambrechts, is moving to Canada following her appointment as Vice President of Mercedes-Benz Vans for Mercedes-Benz Canada, with effect from January 1, 2017.

This position, according to a statement issued in Pretoria, was previously held for more than four years by Pablo de la Peña, who has returned to a role in Mercedes-Benz España.

The statement said Lambrechts, who has been heading up the Vans business in South Africa since January 2014, also served as a member of the Executive Committee of Mercedes-Benz South Africa in this role.

She joined the company in 2001 as a Graduate Trainee and has held numerous roles such as Sales Planner for Chrysler Jeep, Distribution Manager for Commercial Vehicles as well as National Sales Manager and Brand Manager for Mercedes-Benz Vans in South Africa.

Under her leadership the Vans business in South Africa has maintained its position as market leader in the categories where it has share dominance and she has steered new product introductions with tremendous success with the help of the established Mercedes-Benz dealer network in the country.

The successor for Lambrechts’ position will be communicated in due course and the dedicated Mercedes-Benz Vans South Africa team will continue with business as usual during the transition period to new leadership.

Arno van der Merwe, CEO of Mercedes-Benz South Africa and Executive Director: Manufacturing, said: “Nicolette has led the Vans business to various highlights and achievements over the years and continues to build on the successes she has achieved with her respective teams in each of the roles she has filled. We wish her well in her future journey as part of Mercedes-Benz Canada and know that they gain a valuable member to their team.”

Reacting to her new appointment, Lambrechts said: “I am very excited to take up this new challenge. I am eager to combine the best practices that I have been exposed to in my roles in Mercedes-Benz South Africa, and to be part of further growth for the brand in my newly-appointed area of responsibility.”
