Ford Motor Company on Friday announced the appointment of Minesh Bhagaloo, Product Communications Manager for the Sub-Saharan Africa region as the Interim Head of the Communications Department for Ford in South Africa and SSA.
The appointment, which takes effect from March 1, 2019 will see Bhagaloo take over from Rella Bernardes, outgoing General Manager of Communications, who is taking up a new role at Ford of Europe as the Corporate Communications Manager after 14 years with Ford in South Africa, and 11 years in her current position.
A statement issued in Pretoria said Bagaloo, in his interim role, will report to Katie Dove, General Manager Communications, Ford Middle East and Africa, until the announcement of a permanent appointment.
Reacting to the development, the Managing Director of Ford Motor Company Sub-Saharan Africa Region, Neale Hill, was quoted as saying, “It’s an exceptionally busy and exciting time for Ford in South Africa, with the impending launch of the New Ford Ranger, the first-ever Ranger Raptor and the New Everest” adding, “We have full confidence in Minesh and the rest of the Communications team in ensuring continuity and excellence”.
According to Hill, “Although we’re sad to see Rella go, we appreciate her support and dedication to the company over the past 14 years and wish her well in her new Ford role.”
