As South Africa begins a 21-day lockdown as part of efforts to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country , Friday,  Legratron Electronics, a leading asset tracking service provider, has assured its clients that business will continue as usual, but with a few changes.

“While we need to limit our interpersonal relations, the nature of the business allows us to continue functioning as usual,” the company said in an official statement, promising that the team will work remotely.

The managing director of Legratron Electronics, Itumeleng Matshego, explained the planned process:

“We have taken steps to ensure that business continues as usual. All of our team members will be working from their homes and available to clients. Monitoring of your assets and various other items will continue throughout this time and you can rest assured, that we will be there should you encounter a problem during lockdown.

“The emergency, 24-hour call centre will remain operational and ready to assist throughout the entire period. The safety of our clients, whether that be their physical health or their personal safety, is still prioritised during this very uncertain time in our country,”  Matshego said.

Legratron also encouraged its clients to contact them using their Whatsapp number and email address for non-emergency issues.

This, according to the company, will ensure that the team can get back to its clients as soon as possible even if there are further challenges such as loadshedding, stressing that the team will also be available via all their social media channels.

Matshego therefore urged South Africans to avoid panic during the lockdown.

“While this is unchartered territory for the whole world, we encourage South Africans to remain calm. If we follow the restrictions put in place by the presidency, we have a much greater chance of containing the spread of the virus.

“We have the benefit of advancements in technology that allow us to continue connecting with you and providing our services. Legratron will be with you throughout the entire pandemic,” Matshego assured.
