KIMBERLY WALKER NAMED GENERAL MANAGER HYUNDAI MOTOR AMERICA’S WESTERN REGION

Hyundai Motor America has named Kimberly Walker General Manager of the Western Region, effective March 1, 2016.

According to a statement obtained by AUTO REPORT AFRICA on Wednesday, Walker, in her new role, will lead the day-to-day operations of more than 165 Hyundai dealerships across the 12 Western-most states in the United States. She will report to Hyundai’s Vice President of National Sales Derrick Hatami.
“Kimberly has continued to demonstrate strong leadership qualities throughout her tenure at Hyundai and we are happy to see her in the new role as General Manager of the Western Region,” said Derrick Hatami, Vice President of National Sales, Hyundai Motor America. “Her focus has been to work with Hyundai dealerships across the country to improve the retail experience for our customers. We are excited to see what Kimberly does to further improve dealer operations and are confident in her ability to continue the grow our market share in the West.”
Walker, according to the statement, joined Hyundai in 2006 and served roles in assurance products and consumer affairs prior to being named Director of Parts Marketing in 2008. Walker will be moving from her current role as Director of Retail Process and Sales Satisfaction to assume the Western Region responsibilities.
Prior to joining Hyundai, Walker spent more than 12 years with Nissan North America, where she held numerous positions in sales, marketing, and parts and service in both the Nissan and Infiniti field organizations. Walker holds a Master of Business Administration from Chapman University.
