Ford Extends Hurricane Relief Programmes to Irma Victims in Florida

Just as they did when Hurricane Harvey devastated Texas a couple of weeks ago, Ford and its dealers, once again, are providing special assistance for victims of Hurricane Irma in Florida, including first responders, existing customers, and those needing to replace lost or damaged vehicles. Ford has 123 dealerships in Florida and this assistance is coinciding with the on-going Month of Caring which is normally observed by Ford and its volunteers globally every September.

Ford vice president, U.S. marketing, sales and service, Mark LaNeve, said: “We cannot communicate enough just how much people affected by Hurricane Irma, along with those still recovering from Harvey, remain in our thoughts and prayers,” adding,  “The Ford team is taking action to expand our contributions to the American Red Cross, as well as implementing sales programs aimed at getting Floridians back on the road.”

Ford listed the multiple initiatives launched to assist in the hurricane relief efforts to include:

  • Matching employee and dealer contributions in the Ford Motor Company Fund  to the American Red Cross up to $150,000 to aid Hurricane Irma disaster relief efforts, raising potential assistance from Ford to $300,000
  • A special customer-assistance bundle, “Florida Is Family,” will go toward helping customers whose vehicles were lost or damaged to meet their immediate vehicle needs. The bundle, in effect now through Oct. 2 for purchases financed through Ford Credit or Lincoln Automotive Financial Services and completed before Oct. 31, includes:
    • The same no-haggle, below-invoice price Ford Motor Company employees and their families receive
    • No payments until next year
    • Low Ford Credit APR or lease rates
    • Simple online credit application process.
    • Ford said existing Ford Credit and Lincoln Automotive Financial Services customers affected by Irma can apply to have their payments deferred for up to two months just as first responders in hurricane-affected areas are eligible to receive a special $1,000 discount (in addition to all available incentives) toward the purchase of any Ford or Lincoln vehicle.
    • “The entire Ford family of employees, dealers and customers is dedicated to putting our heart into everything we do,” said LaNeve. “As we did with Harvey, Ford is committed to taking action where we can to make the process for those rebuilding their lives as a result of Hurricane Irma as simple as possible.”
