Auto Shanghai 2021 opens for business

Auto Shanghai, one of the world’s biggest automotive trade fairs, opened its doors in China’s business metropolis, this Wednesday, April 21 and runs till April 28, 2021. About 1,000 international exhibitors will showcase their latest cars, products and intelligent solutions for the industry in 12 halls at the Shanghai National Exhibition and Convention Centre (NECC). April 19 and 20 were the Media Days.

Embracing Change
Under the motto “Embracing Change”, Auto Shanghai will focus on major trends in the automotive industry like electromobility, connectivity, artificial intelligence, autonomous driving and new mobility concepts. Established car manufacturers and suppliers as well as newcomers all are adapting their portfolio to the profound changes, those developments together with digitalization bring with them. Therefore, Auto Shanghai actively embraces new industrial changes in the digital economy, seizes the opportunities of “new infrastructure” and provides a comprehensive display stage for all kinds of innovative products, technologies and ideas.

Platform for manufacturers and suppliers
In the car manufactures exhibition area, the main automobile brands from Germany, the US, Japan and Korea are all participating in the name of the headquarter with high exhibition specifications and strong intensity. The six major domestic automobile groups and independent brands are all participating in the exhibition. New energy vehicle brands as well as some commercial vehicles will also be on the scene. In the automotive supplier exhibition area, Chinese and foreign first-line suppliers with innovative components and products will make an impressive appearance.

China is the world’s most important market for future technologies in the automotive industry, not least due to state funding, smart city initiatives and the growing integration of vehicle, road and urban infrastructure.
