Amarok Shows Stuff at RFS Endurance in Vryburg

Amarok 1 Amarok 2All is set for Volkswagen Amarok to show the hard stuff it’s made of as it makes its official debut at the opening round of the 2016 Donaldson Cross Country Championship in Vryburg scheduled to hold this Friday and Saturday, April 1-2, 2016.

Two Amaroks, which were designed and built by Thompson Racing, have been entered for the RFS Endurance race as private entries by Atlas Copco and RFS Motorsport.

The RFS Motorsport entry, according to a statement obtained by AUTO REPORT AFRICA, will be in the hands of Christiaan du Plooy and co-driver, Henk Janse van Vuuren. Gary Berthold and his co-driver, Pierre Arries will pilot the Atlas Copco entry.

The RFS Endurance race is one of the seven races that the Amaroks will contest in the 2016 championship.

The Amarok race car is powered by the previous generation Audi TTRS 5-cylinder 2.5 turbo petrol engine with 225kW and 500 Newton Metres of torque. The gearbox is a Sadev 6-speed sequential.
