PAN Nigeria Limited, the Kaduna-based assemblers and distributors of Peugeot vehicles, will soon be restored to its past glorious days. The Managing Director, PAN Nigeria Limited, Alhaji Ibrahim Boyi, gave the promise recently in Abuja when he led the management of the company on a courtesy visit to the Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Mr. Jelani Aliyu.

Revealing PAN’s growth plans to the new Director General, Boyi said the company would rebuild its industrial and commercial structures and restore its status as the nation’s leading automotive plant.

The PAN Managing Director also disclosed that the company was working to rapidly grow its commercial vehicle business through local production of vehicles and adoption of specialised products.

He listed other plans by the company to grow its business to include the upgrade and expansion of after sales services network for enhanced and standardised products support across Nigeria; ensuring steady availability of genuine parts; promoting drive for increased local content and investing continuously on manpower development through technical, vocational and entrepreneurial training.

Commending the nation’s auto policy which, he described as a “life-line” for  all auto assembly plants in Nigeria, Boyi said, “Quite honestly, we would not have been able to restart our factory operations if not for the auto policy that created a new environment and tariff measures to promote local manufacturing, greater prospects for local components and parts manufacturing, significant change in the competitive environment that made locally assembled vehicles more competitive and more affordable in the market space.”

Meanwhile, the company’s auto finance scheme with Jaiz Bank is already generating great excitement among Nigerians.  The scheme requires customers with interest in any of the Peugeot vehicles available to make a down payment of 20 percent of the cost to  Jaiz Bank while the Bank provides the 80 percent balance with a competitive interest rate.

The repayment period, according to Jaiz Bank, is  48 months. The cars available under the scheme are Peugeot 301 ACCESS, 301 ACTIVE,  301 ALLURE PRESTIGE, 301 ALLURE LX, 508 ACTIVE, 508 ALLURE, 4008 ACCESS, 4008 ACTIVE, EXPERT TP, EXPERT AMBULANCE, 3008 ACTIVE, 3008 PACK LUXURY, PARTNER PV, PARTNER LCV, and PARTNER AMBULANCE.
