Lubcon Nigeria Limited, the official blender of Yamalube for Yamaha motorcycles and outboard engines in Nigeria, has assured that the company will continue to meet the quality standard that Yamaha requires.
Lubcon’s Managing Director, Mr. Taiye Williams, gave the assurance while speaking at the grand opening of the showroom and assembly plant of CFAO Yamaha Motor Nigeria in Lagos last weekend.
Expressing his company’s excitement as the official lubricants blender for Yamaha in the country, Williams said this is very significant considering the fact that an indigenous company is able to produce all the lubricants needed for Yamaha motorcycles and outboard engines.
“This is a huge step for us and it is key for capacity building for the company,” Williams said. ”It will also enable us to raise our standards at the international level.”
Williams however lamented the challenges facing manufacturers in the country despite the huge potential of the local manufacturers.
The Lubcon Managing Director therefore advised the federal government to create the environment that would be conducive for local lubricants companies to thrive.
“The essential way to go is to focus on local manufacturers. We are positioned to provide the desired lubricants that would make the country’s machinery run. Raising our standards despite competition is a continuous process. There is a regular audit, though we are approved to blend.
“Lubcon is an ISO-certified company which implies that we also go through regular internal and external audit in our management and quality system. All these assist us to maintain the quality that is required in order to meet the standards that Yamaha will require. We aim to improve on this partnership and we are highly determined to ensure that we will not disappoint them,” Williams said.
