Weststar Associates Limited, the authorised general distributors of Mercedes Benz in Nigeria, has joined the Lagos State Government, the Creative Youth Community Development Initiative (CYCDI)- Solution17 for Climate Action, and the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria (AHK Nigeria), to champion climate education and planting of 100,000 economic trees in secondary and technical schools in Lagos State.
The partnership, according to Weststar Associates, is a step towards achieving the Creative Youth Community Development Initiative’s mission of planting 100,000 Economic Trees in Lagos State by 2023, and 10 million trees in Nigeria by September 25, 2030. It also supports Lagos State Government’s commitment to climate action and the actualization of the 2030 agenda for sustainable development.
Deputy Managing Director, Weststar Associates Limited, Mrs. Mary Ojulari, along with the General Counsel Legal Compliance and Human Resources, Weststar Associates Limited, Mrs. Nwaedonzi Ebere Anenih, took part in a Tree Planting exercise held at Vetland Junior Grammar School and Vetland Senior Grammar School, Agege, with delegates from the Creative Youth Community Development Initiative and the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria (AHK Nigeria).
At the Tree Planting event, Ojulari spoke on the necessity for everyone to work together in protecting the environment even as emphasised on a broader scale, Mercedes-Benz AG’s continued commitment to climate protection and air quality.
