Weststar Announces Ojulari’s Exit as Managing Director

Weststar Associates, the authorised general distributor of Mercedes-Benz in Nigeria, weekend, announced the exit of its Managing Director, Mary Ojulari, from the company.

A statement jointly signed by the chairman, Benson Awatse and director, Osayande Asemota, announcing the changes in the company’s management team said “Mrs. Mary Ojulari, who held the position of Managing Director is no longer affiliated with theCompany.” 
The company added that “Until the appointment of a new Managing Director, Mrs. Ebere Anenih, who is currently the General Counsel, Legal Compliance and Human Resources, will be the acting Managing Directorand will be responsible for running the Company. She is the point of contact for all businessoperations.”
The statement listed other Management team members to support the acting Managing Director to include the Christopher Irumudomon, Head of Sales for Passenger Cars and Vans; Chima Otuechere,Treasury Manager; Ifeanyi Igbokwe, Head of Aftersales; Umoh Ekanem, Head of Sales, Commercial Vehicles and Urban Lavan, National Parts Manager.
Others, according to the company, include Christiana Kanabe, Abuja Parts Manager; Victor Bolarin, Business & Network Development Manager; Junaid Raza, Workshop Manager, Passenger Cars;  Oluwatobi Abimbola, Marketing and Social Media Manager; and Chigozie Oranugo, Application & Network Support Engineer (IT).
AUTO REPORT AFRICA recalls that about a year ago in September 2022, Ojulari stepped in as the Managing Director of the company while  Mirko Plath, former Managing Director, was upgraded  as the Chief Executive Officer . She thus became  the first woman to lead the leading Mercedes-Menz dealership in Nigeria.
Ojulari, who was until then the Deputy Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer at Weststar for five years, brought  her immense wealth of experience in the corporate world to bear on her new role as she already had a successful history within the company and had  played a key part in the company in her previous roles.
Before joining Weststar, Ojulari, a finance and accounting professional, and also a former President, European Chamber of Commerce (EuroCham) in Nigeria, had worked with CNBC Africa as Finance Director for West Africa and as Finance Manager for BBC for five years.
She attended the South Thames College in London and she’s a graduate of London South Bank University where she obtained her first degree in Accounting. She also attended the Warwick Business School at University of Warwick where she obtained the Master of Business Administration (MBA) in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies.
