Volvo cars are set for even more driving enjoyment with the introduction of Polestar Performance Parts.
Engineered by Polestar, Polestar Performance Parts offer a wide range of extensively developed enhancements for the Volvo V40, S60, V60 and XC60 models to begin with, including chassis parts, wheels, exhausts, interior and exterior details and more.
“We have received strong feedback over a long period of time from customers all over the world regarding Polestar Performance Parts. We are delighted to be able to meet the demand, starting now. This is a product which improves on the already strong base of Volvo cars in terms of performance, handling and driving pleasure,” Niels Möller, Chief Operating Officer of Polestar, said in a statement obtained by AUTO REPORT AFRICA.
All Polestar Performance Parts, according to the statement, are designed under the philosophy, “Made to Perform”, fully utilising the 20-year motorsport experience of the engineers and racing drivers from Polestar and its motorsport partner Cyan Racing.
“What we learned on the racing circuits with our colleagues at Cyan Racing is that championships are not won on a single lap. The secret of our success on the track is in creating balanced and precise cars that are predictable for the driver to control in all situations.
“ Lessons learnt on the track are transferred directly to the development of our road cars and performance products. The new range of Polestar Performance Parts is no exception – they are designed and developed with the very same philosophy,” Henrik Fries, R&D Director of Polestar, also said in the statement.
The statement disclosed that Polestar Performance Parts can be purchased as a complete package, including chassis parts, wheels and tyres, intake and exhaust components, as well as exterior and interior parts.
All of these components will together create a more compelling driving experience, and can be bought in separate packages as well.
The Polestar Performance Parts work especially well in combination with Polestar Performance Optimisation software (which enhances engine performance, throttle response, and in automatic models, gearshift speed and precision).
Noteworthy parts include a strut bar (S/V60 only), a 2.5-inch stainless steel exhaust system, sports air filters, 19-inch alloy wheels for the V40 and S/V60, 21-inch alloy wheels for the XC60, sportier door sills, gear knobs and pedals, spoilers and décor elements.
All Polestar Performance Parts are developed and tested together with Volvo Cars to the same high standards as all other products. This process ensures perfect fit and finish, with no impact on the Volvo factory warranty.
The statement said other Volvo models will be included in the Polestar Performance Parts programme in due course.
According to the statement, Polestar Performance Parts will be available through the Volvo Car South Africa dealer network from April with pricing still under negotiation.
