TOYOTA ANNOUNCES 2016 RECRUITMENT PLAN, FLOATS SCHOLARSHIP FUND FOR FEMALE STUDENTS

Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) Wednesday announced that it plans to hire 2,680 people (including Toyota Technical Skills Academy enrollees and mid-career hires) in the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2016.

In a statement issued in Toyota City, Japan, the auto giant said it plans to continue promoting diversity by recruiting female employees for administrative and engineering positions, and by establishing a scholarship fund for female students in science-related fields.

The fund, according to the statement obtained by AUTO REPORT AFRICA, will encourage female students to study science-related subjects and consider applying for science-related jobs upon graduation.

“In addition, to promote sustainable growth by hiring highly skilled personnel, TMC is actively looking to offer permanent positions to promising fixed-term technical employees,” the statement added.
