THULE Expands Concept Store Network

Thule has increased the number of its specialist outlets in South Africa to 24 with the opening of a full-house Thule Concept Store in Morningside, Johannesburg.

With Thule, you transport your belongings in style, and safely.

Based on the Stockholm flagship store, the operation incorporates clean lines and a minimalist look and boasts top-class Swedish design.

“We are extremely excited about our new store in Morningside as it is a niche, bespoke community centre with a strong convenience element. The forward-thinking design of the space is something we value and prioritise in everything we do at Thule,” Jamie Owen, the brand’s Marketing Manager, explained .

According to Owen, “Much like our other stores, the slick modern layout makes it easy for customers to browse and bring together everything that consumers have come to love about the Thule brand.”

Trend forecasters are predicting that “DIY” holidays are expected to become more popular than ever with South Africans; caravanning, camping, road-tripping, slack-packing, hiking and even bicycle touring are all high on the agenda.

Renowned for its innovation, simplicity and functionality, Thule has always been ‘destination’ oriented, focusing on vehicle accessories such as roof racks, and carriers for road sports (bicycles) and water sports (kayaks and canoes).

However, as the brand has evolved, this has expanded to backpacks for laptops, travel duffel bags and technical hiking packs. The new Active with Kids range has a different emphasis: everything from sports strollers to child bike seats, child carrier backpacks and more, so that parents can bring their kids along, as they discover the great outdoors.

“Thule prides itself on enabling people to enjoy their active lifestyles by making it possible to travel simply, safely and in style.

“We are expecting our customers to continue to rely on the brand for these solutions, albeit closer to home than before. Our new Morningside store is packed with all the gear needed to enjoy an active lifestyle and for families to explore our beautiful country,” said Owen.

Concept Stores sell the Swedish brand’s entire range of sports utility solutions as well as luggage, luggage boxes and baskets and – soon – even rooftop tents!
