Tempest Car Hire boosts fleet with Tata Bolt cars

A South African car hire firm, Tempest Car Hire, a subsidiary of the Imperial Group, is boosting its fleet with Tata Bolt cars.

The company has ordered a number of Tata Bolt 1.2 Turbo hatchbacks as the Category A car in its national rental fleet.

The Bolt, according to a statement obtained by AUTO REPORT AFRICA, will be offered at a competitive rate of as little as R157 per day and this includes 100-kilometre free and standard insurance cover.

However, this figure may vary according to the season and city.

“We are very pleased to have secured this order as it will mean that many renters countrywide will now have the opportunity to experience the quality and benefits offered in our newest car range, which is particularly well equipped for an entry level model,” said Kyri Michael, the CEO of Accordian Investments which markets and distributes Tata cars and light commercials in South Africa.

“The affordable new Bolt, in both hatchback and sedan configurations includes features such as air conditioning, electric windows, Bluetooth connectivity and a touchscreen infotainment system, but also offers good performance from its turbocharged 1.2-litre engine. The Bolt is very economical too, with the winner of a recent long distance drive by motoring journalists from Musina to Aghulhas averaging 4.4l/100km.”

Jody Naidoo, the Car Rental Fleet Executive, added that he was glad his company could offer such a spacious and well equipped car in the very popular A Category.

“It certainly offers outstanding value for money at the budget end of the local rental market,” said Naidoo.

“Our deal to supply Tempest Car Hire with our new Bolt hatchbacks will certainly help to increase brand awareness of Tata as a manufacturer of cars and light commercials,” Michael stated.
