As preparations for the 2016 Johannesburg Boat Show scheduled to hold from August 26 – 28 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec get to a fever pitch, Suzuki, Yamaha and others have concluded plans to launch new outboard motors and related products at the show.

Suzuki is set to launch a trio of class-leading portable outboards while the fast, light and fuel efficient, Yamaha’s new F175 outboard which promises incredible versatility, will be launched at the Show even as Waterworld will unveil the 2016 Sea-Doo range.

This is coming even as Gauteng’s leading boat and watersport retailers, under the aegis of Gauteng Boat Retailers’ Association, are also pulling out all the stops as they get set for the 2016 spring/summer boating, watersport and outdoor season.

The show, according to a statement obtained by AUTO REPORT AFRICA, will highlight hundreds of new boats, marine engines, kayaks, jet skis, fishing, angling and dive exhibits as well as fishing clinics at the go fish stage, wakeboarding and paddleboarding demonstrations on the Lake and Kia on Tour test drives.

Boating International will launch Malibu’s new Wakesetter 25 LSV, which is built to deliver the ultimate wake performance and is the ideal boat for wake riders demanding the best in wake, surf and tech.

The 25 LSV turns the water into a playground with its wake-and-wave maximising hull, industry-leading Command Centre providing of every aspect of its monster wake and Power Wedge II hydrofoil allowing riders to create long, clean wakes for epic riding.

A highlight of the Suzuki display will be the new DF6A, DF5A and DF4A lightweight, portable outboards. Easy and quiet to use these new models are also incredibly reliable and boast a new design and unique colour.

With a compact design and weighing in at only 23.5kg with two sturdy carry handles, it is no problem to lift these outboards on and off your boat or in and out of storage. Suzuki has made stowing these outboards even easier with a new three-way storage capacity. Improvements to the fuel and lubrication systems allow for extremely convenient storage on any one of three sides (port, starboard and front) without risk of fuel or oil leakage.

Waterworld will be showcasing the full range of 2016 Sea-Doo personal watercraft including the new Sea-Doo 300hp models. All of Sea-Doo’s 2016 models include the second-generation iBR (intelligent Brake & Reverse) system.

The 2016 RXT-X sees a boost to a legitimate 300 horsepower. Combine the suspension system, the Ergolock seat and fully adjustable handlebar this performance watercraft promises some great offshore riding. Whatever your requirement from recreational to performance, luxury to tow sports Sea-Doo has a model that fits your activities and personality.

Yamaha’s line-up of outboard motors has been broadened with the addition of the new in-line 4, VMX SHO F175 that will be launched at the Johannesburg Boat Show. Its streamlined design conceals next-generation technology. The F175 uses a single-throttle intake valve and Yamaha’s long-track intake tubes for easy breathing. The outboard also includes Yamaha’s Variable Trolling RPM Switch (VTS). At just 223 kilos, the F175 is ideal for a wide variety of sporting and recreational applications.
