Stellantis has sealed a new deal for FIAT, one of its emblematic brands, in Algeria. The new deal, will will lead to the development of  industrial activities, after-sales and spare parts for Fiat in the North African country, is seen as another sign of progress for  Stellantis Middle East & Africa in Algeria.

The agreement for the deal,  between Stellantis and the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI),  was signed on Tuesday in the presence of  Algerian Minister of Industry, Ahmed Zaghdar .

COO, Stellantis Middle East & Africa, Samir Cherfan, while commenting on the new development, said: “This new step solidifies our commitments and the contribution of the FIAT brand to the development of the automotive sector in Algeria.  We are moving forward with passion and determination to offer Algerian customers modern, sustainable and affordable mobility solutions.”

The new production site, according to sources close to the development, will be located in Tafraoui, Oran, on a 40 hectares plot, with an adjoining 80 hectares dedicated to developing an ecosystem of local suppliers and subcontracting companies.

This will contribute to the evolution of the Algerian auto industry by increasing the skills of already-established stakeholders in Algeria, and by attracting new entrants into the market to reach high levels of local integration.

Stellantis is restating its commitment  to creating value within communities, and the expansion of the Fiat production in Algeria is a testimony to this commitment.
