The South African Motoring Experience, South Africa’s only national motor show endorsed by NAAMSA (National Association of Automobile Manufacturers of South Africa) and  powered by the SA Festival of Motoring, is to hold from September 1-3 at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.

Recall that the inaugural SA Festival of Motoring staged in 2016 attracted over 51, 000 visitors with the undisputed highlight for visitors being the opportunity for on-track test drives. The  SA Motoring Experience 2017 will therefore increase the opportunity for visitors to get up close and personal with the legendary Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit.

A further bonus for visitors at this year’s event is the co-location of the Johannesburg Boat and Water Show , providing them with opportunity to view the latest boats and jet-ski’s on offer as well as offerings from leading watersport, dive and fishing exhibitors .

A streamlined circuit schedule sees expanded opportunity for visitors with even more opportunities to be driven by professional drivers or test drive personally some of the latest models manufacturers has to offer. Other areas that will keep petrol heads and families alike entertained – is the new expanded 4×4 Village, the highly anticipated Skid Pan area – where manufacturers will delight the visitors with out-of-the ordinary activations, the Galleria exhibition area – where visitors can buy, test and find out about all aspects of the automotive industry and lastly the Food Court for the tastiest food and beverages while the children entertain themselves in the Kiddies Play Area.

“We are excited to announce that WesBank will again be our headline sponsor on the back of the success of the 2016 event, with the mutual vision of serving and investing in the motor industry, the relationship has grown from strength to strength,” said Konstantin von Vieregge, CEO of SA Shows Messe Frankfurt, the event organisers. This year’s event, according to the organisers,  is already proving to be a huge attraction to all manufacturers, as von Vieregge said:  “We are pleased to add seven new brands to the strong line-up of leading OEM’s who participated in 2016.”

South Africa’s leading motor manufacturers have already committed to participation ensuring that the public will be able to experience first-hand a number of new models sure to be launched to the public at the event.

The 2017 event gains international flavour with the announcement that Will Kinsman, Head of Motorsport Content of the Goodwood Road Racing Company, organisers of the world-famous Goodwood Festival of Speed and Goodwood Revival, has confirmed participation as the principal judge of all motoring content at the SA Motoring Experience.

“We are excited to be in a position to confirm participation by a leading authority such as Will Kinsman and to show him the best that the South African motoring fraternity has to offer” said Konstantin von Vieregge.

“I am sure that Kinsman will be amazed by the calibre and depth and breadth of collectible vehicles on display at the SA Motoring Experience” added von Vieregge. The inaugural 2016 event saw hundreds of collectible vehicles on display and Kinsman’s participation in 2017 provides South African collectors of vintage, veteran, historic and classic vehicles with a unique opportunity to present their precious assets to a panel of international and local experts – to crown SA’s cream of the crop collectable. “Having attended the 2016 Festival of Motoring as a visitor, I was delighted to witness the enthusiasm and interest in motoring shown by the South African public. I am very excited to be part of the 2017 event, and to see how it evolves going forward,” Will Kinsman said.
