Rui Silva is New Managing Director for Subaru Southern Africa

 Subaru

Rui Silva has been appointed as the new Managing Director for Subaru Southern Africa.

Silva, who assumed his new position on July 1, 2017, was the former Chief Operations Officer (COO) of the company and he took over the mantle of leadership from Kazunori Suzuki who had been the Managing Director of  Subaru Southern Africa since 2013. Suzuki will, however, remain with the company until the end of the financial year and thereafter return to the company’s Tokyo-based shareholder, Toyota Tsusho Corporation, to assume a new assignment.

Silva joined Subaru Southern Africa in 1994 as an accountant, two years after the brand was established in South Africa, and has enjoyed a long-standing career and widespread experience within the company, ranging from Finance and Sales, through to his last position as Chief Operations Officer.

With Subaru Southern Africa having just launched the all-new Subaru Impreza and XV model range, together with the debut of its award-winning driver assist technology called EyeSight,  Silva says, “Subaru Southern Africa is at a pivotal point, with outstanding new product and  technology released, and high levels of customer satisfaction and passion for the brand.

“In addition, we have an enthusiastic and a thriving dealer network that is wanting of a broader customer base. With this renewed energy, our shareholder and manufacturer are steadfast in further investments into our market. This all bodes well for our mandate of delivering superior confidence in all that we do for our customers”.
