PORSCHE MAKES NEW RECORD, EXCEEDS THE 200,000 MARK OF VEHICLES DELIVERED

Porsche has broken an all-time record as its November sales results marked an historic success with the German automaker delivering 209,894 cars worldwide from January to November 2015.

This, according to a statement issued from its Middle East Africa (MEA) regional office in Dubai, weekend, corresponds to a 24 per cent increase in comparison to the same period in 2014.

For the first time in the history of the company, the statement said, Porsche has handed over more than 200,000 vehicles to customers in a year, adding that the Stuttgart-based sports car maker had set its own record with a total of 189,849 deliveries worldwide in 2014.

“With more than 200,000 Porsche models delivered, we have reached a milestone of our strategy 2018 well ahead of schedule”, Detlev von Platen, Member of the Executive Board for Sales and Marketing, Porsche AG, said. According to him, “Porsche employees worldwide have joined forces to contribute to making this success possible. With our future-oriented products, our motivated staff and our powerful sales partners across the globe, we are well positioned for the future.”

In November, Porsche sold a total of 18,110 new cars. The Cayenne was the growth driver: with 6,579 vehicles delivered last month – a plus of 39 per cent when compared to the same period last year. The model has also been the bestseller in the period from January to November 2015 with 68,029 models (+ 14 per cent) being handed over to customers worldwide.

The strongest single market during the 11-month period was China where Porsche sold 54,302 cars alone (+ 34 per cent). The United States followed in second place, with 47,819 vehicles delivered (+ 9 per cent). The European market grew by 30 per cent to 70,509 units sold.
