Porsche Delivers Significantly More Cars in First Half of 2023

Porsche sold significantly more sports and off-road vehicles in the first half of the year.

Between January and June, 167,354 vehicles were delivered, around 15 percent more than in the same period last year, the carmaker announced in Stuttgart on Wednesday.

Porsche AG posted the most growth in Europe, particularly in Germany, with sales increased worldwide, according to the statement.

The number of vehicles delivered in Germany grew by 24% in the first half of the year.

“After the first six months, we can be satisfied with our delivery result,” sales chief Detlev von Platen said.

In the rest of Europe, the company, which is majority-owned by the Volkswagen Group, sold around 23% more cars.

In China, sales were up by around 8%, and in North America by around 12%.

The SUV models are particularly popular with Porsche customers, with 26% more of the Macan compact SUV and 12% more of the Cayenne sold.

The 911 sports car model was also very popular, with sales up 21%.

Sales of the all-electric Taycan, however, were weaker, down 5% to 17,991 cars, due to a lack in availability of parts than other model series, the company said.
