The new Volkswagen dealership in Krugersdorp

The NTT Group has splashed over R70 million on a new Volkswagen dealership in Krugersdorp, Gauteng as the Volkswagen dealer network continues to invest and strengthen its offer to customers in South Africa. The brand new and relocated property is a fully-fledged Volkswagen dealership with a state-of-the-art showroom, workshop and parts department. Its new position is now in a prime location close to the Key West Shopping Centre in Krugersdorp.

“The Volkswagen Brand has a total of 109 dealerships in South Africa, Namibia and Botswana, with our dealerships providing employment to over 5 200 people across the network,” said Steffen Knapp, Head of the Volkswagen Passenger Car Brand.

Volkswagen Krugersdorp, which is part of the NTT Group, opened its doors in April 2021 and will be run by Dealer Principal, Alta Venter.

Alta Venter is a seasoned Dealer Principal with over 40 years in the Volkswagen Brand. She has won numerous awards over the years including the coveted Gold Pin Award for consistent performance, professionalism and brand loyalty. She has also won the Grand Prix Club of Excellence Award twice, has been in list of Top 25 Sales Achievers 15 times and is an honorary member of the ‘Volkswagen Wall of Fame’.

The NTT Group has a total of nine Volkswagen dealerships in South Africa. Their Volkswagen Dealership in Kimberley was recently awarded Dealer of the Year at the recently-hosted Grand Prix Awards; the NTT Group also won Micro Group of the Year for 2020.

In 2020, the Volkswagen dealer network helped the brand achieve a record-breaking market share of 21.6%. The dealer network achieved a market share of 19% in 2020 and accounted for over 75% of Volkswagen’s total sales.
