The Nigerian Lubricants Summit Group, organisers of the annual Nigerian Lubricants Summit, Wednesday, announced a new date for the third edition of the Summit.

A statement issued in Lagos said the summit will now hold on Tuesday, March 7 and Wednesday, March 8, 2017 in Lagos.

In support of the policy thrust of the Federal Government at promoting the narrative on ‘Think Nigeria, Buy Made in Nigeria’ products to encourage local manufacturing, the organisers said the third edition of the Summit will focus on the Nigerian automotive industry, one of the fastest growing industries in Nigeria as is being organised in partnership with the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), formerly National Automotive Council (NAC).

The Nigerian Lubricants Summit is a thought leadership platform for public-private sector cooperation, purposely to promote local content capacity and inclusive growth of the lubricants industry and its allied markets.

The summit is designed as a strategic partnership with respective regulatory agencies of government as platform for stakeholders to collaborate and promote Nigeria’s industrial revolution. It aims among others to foster open and continuous dialogues on how the industry can optimise its potentials.

In 2014, the organisers successfully hosted the maiden edition; a two-day event. It was held in collaboration with the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).

In 2015, the second edition was held in collaboration with the Standards Organisation of Nigeria (SON) and the Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR).

The 2015 edition was a three day event; a forum, Exhibition and Gala. The outcomes of the past two editions were submitted as communiqués to stakeholder associations, regulatory agencies as well as the executive and the legislative arms of the government for policy formulations.

The Nigerian Lubricants Summit usually attracts participants from among key players in the downstream sector in Nigeria and outside the country.
