MAN VS. BEAST: MERCEDES-BENZ #EVERYTERRAIN CAMPAIGN GROWS IN POPULARITY

Following the recent onslaught of new and enhanced models in the Mercedes-Benz SUV range, the ‘Find your best’ – #EveryTerrain campaign is growing in popularity, a statement obtained by AUTO REPORT AFRICA has said.

Now in its fourth episode of a six-part series, social media fans, according to the statement, will be treated to an awe-inspiring experience of ‘Man versus Beast’.  World-renowned photographer Adrian Steirn and ‘Animal behaviourist – Lion Whisperer’ Kevin Richardson teamed up to fulfil their challenge.

“The twosome had 48 hours to conceptualise and get the perfect shot for a billboard depicting a unique message to raise awareness around canned hunts and the plight of Africa’s lions,” Marketing Director Mercedes-Benz Cars, Selvin Govender, said.

Working with these large predators in the Welgedacht Private Game Reserve, nestled between the Bobbejaansberge and the Boekenhoutspruit outside Pretoria, proved to be a challenge for Adrian.  Lions are not the easiest of subject matter for a film-shoot, whereas Kevin felt quite at home in his Wildlife Sanctuary with these huge carnivores.  Adrian had his legendary G-Class to help familiarise himself with the pride and to keep him safe.

Against all odds, including adverse weather conditions, Adrian and Kevin capture the perfect shot – the duo finds their best!

“We are not only inspired by the creativity and the beauty of these lions, but we are also deeply aware of the dangers these predators face with the morally distasteful practice of ‘canned lion hunting’,” Govender added.

The message: “What legacy will we leave for our future generations?”

In the first episode, world renowned singer LIRA and comedian Loyiso Gola travel through the sugar cane fields of KwaZulu-Natal in the stylish new GLE Coupe to find their best – a Traditional Zulu folksong!

In the second episode, fashion designer Craig Jacobs and radio presenter, Lerato Kganyago traverse the sand dunes of Namibia in the all new GLC to find their best – a unique designer gown for Lerato to wear at an upcoming social event.

In episode 3, South African sporting hero, ex-cricketer Mark Boucher and Eat Out Award-winning chef Marthinus Ferreira, with the GLE 63 4MATIC travelled the rugged Transkei.  The unlikely couple cooked up a storm for the local entrepreneurs they met on their travels, to find their best!
