LIQUI MOLY renews contract with IntactGP, becomes main sponsor of Moto2 Racing Team

LIQUI MOLY, the German oil and additive specialist,  has expanded its involvement in the Motorcycle World Championship and has strengthened its commitment to IntactGP by becoming the main sponsor of the Moto2 racing team from the Allgau region of the country .

As a result of this development, from next year, the team will compete in the Motorcycle World Championship  as LIQUI MOLY INTACTGP.

Commenting on the new deal, Managing Director, LIQUI MOLY,  Ernst Prost, said, ” We are expanding the successful cooperation and increasing the visibility of our brand.”

LIQUI MOLY prematurely renewed its contract with IntactGP by three

years, extending the cooperation up to the end of 2022. The new name,
LIQUI MOLY IntactGP,  will be seen on motorcycles and leathers after
the winter break.

IntactGP ended the season with great success as Tom Lüthi finished third in the Moto2 overall ranking, while Tom Lüthi and Marcel Schrötter even finished second in the team standings. Both riders will be on the track again next year. Expectations for the coming season are, no doubt, correspondingly high.

LIQUI MOLY has been a premium sponsor of the racing team since 2013.
“At the time, it was also a vehicle to make our motorcycle line better
known,” said Ernst Prost. “Many people were already aware of our
oils and additives for cars. That we had an independent product line
especially for motorcycles was not so well known at the time.”

The cooperation with the racing team was only the first step. In the
course of subsequent years, advertising hoardings at the race tracks were added.

“MotoGP fascinates an incredible number of people, both on
site and in front of their screens,” said Peter Baumann, Marketing
Director at LIQUI MOLY. “That’s an advertising reach which is hard
to find anywhere else.”

In addition, all bikes in the Moto2 and Moto3 racing series will now be run exclusively with LIQUI MOLY oil in their engines.

“All this gave our brand awareness a tremendous boost – and not just
among motorcycle fans,”  Prost said, adding, “Now we are shifting up a gear.”
