Science lesson plans helps K-12 students understand regenerative agriculture and the environment

Acclaimed Directors, Josh and Rebecca Tickell (Oscar® shortlist for “Fuel,” Official Selection Cannes Film Festival for “The Big Fix”) have released KISS THE GROUND: FOR SCHOOLS, a 45-minute-long educational version of their latest critically lauded have teamed up with the National Science Teachers’ Association (#NSTA) to bring science-based lesson plans and resources to K-12 teachers nationwide.

With epic footage shot on five continents, striking visuals from NASA and NOAA, and stunning animation, the documentary conveys this critical message through the voices of leading scientists, ecologists, and experts including Nobel Laureates in climate, members of the International Panel on Climate Change, top scientists at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association (NOAA), as well as environmental activists such as Giselle, Tom Brady, Jason Mraz, Ian Somerhalder, Patricia Arquette, and Rosario Dawson.

The new version, which has added scenes, is available to all schools, students, teachers, and community educators at no cost via KissTheGroundMovie.com.

“Rebecca and I are proud to present this new version of ‘Kiss The Ground’ and make it widely available online to 100,000 national and international schools and to over 35 million students nationally and millions more internationally,” said Josh Tickell. “One of the key messages in our film is today’s youth are the best-positioned leaders to implement the practices of regeneration and climate change reversal.”

A 45-long educational version of their 50 national and international award-winning eco-documentary, KISS THE GROUND. Narrated by Woody Harrelson, the Grade 6-12 Version of the Critically Acclaimed Eco-Doc has added Classroom Curricula by National Science Teaching Association.

These lesson plans and related resources discuss regenerative agriculture and provide students opportunities to use data from multiple sources—including data they collect themselves—to develop explanations about how saving the soil can have far-reaching, positive impacts on Earth’s environments.

KISS THE GROUND: FOR SCHOOLS also has a series of person-on-street interviews with Rosario Dawson and a scene in which Tony Tenfingers, a Lakota Elder, describes the importance of the once-prevalent buffalo for Native American peoples. It is available with subtitles in 18 languages including English Closed Captions, Spanish, Mandarin, and Hindi.
