The 2016 Hyundai Tucson has been awarded the MotorWeek’s Drivers’ Choice Award for “Best Small Utility” at the 2016 Chicago Auto Show.
MotorWeek, television’s longest-running automotive series, has presented the Drivers’ Choice Awards annually since 1983.
“The redesigned Hyundai Tucson is fresher and better equipped than any direct compact crossover rival. It is also a bargain for its class,” said John Davis, creator, host and executive producer, MotorWeek. “All are starring qualities that should impress the masses, keeping Hyundai’s marquee shining bright.”
MotorWeek evaluated vehicles based on what consumers value the most: price, practicality, performance and fuel efficiency. MotorWeek’s editorial staff then selected the best models in a variety of lifestyle categories. The overall “Best of the Year” Awards were then selected from those top vehicles.
“This accolade from MotorWeek distinguishes the 2016 Tucson from a crowded CUV segment for its advanced safety and technology features, along with high value proposition,” said Brandon Ramirez, senior group manager, product planning, Hyundai Motor America. “Hyundai is committed to engineering its CUVs to be affordable while delivering performance and fuel efficiency.”
The all-new 2016 Hyundai Tucson comes equipped with advanced safety features, including Lane Departure Warning, Blind Spot Detection, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist, Backup Warning Sensors and Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB). The 2016 Tucson also earned the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS’s) 2016 TOP SAFETY PICK+ designation.
