Ahead of the next stop of the maiden KIA SA Beach Tennis National Championship at the Arnold Classic in Sandton this weekend, Gauteng teams took the lead in the first round held at the Badplaas Forever Resort in Mpumalanga last weekend from May 10-12.

Following a weekend of exceptional tennis, it was Gauteng’s Michael de Jongh and Ryan Brookshaw that clinched the men’s title, and Helga Jeske and Kyla Yelverton – also Gauteng – winning the ladies title, walking away not only with the prize money in both segments, but – more importantly – spots in the World Team Championships that will take place in Russia in July.
