FRSC TARGETS Q1 FOR SIGNAGE PRODUCTION PLANT INAUGURATION

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has expressed the determination to complete and inaugurate its signage production plant under construction at Gwagawalada in the Federal Capital Territory before the end of the first quarter.

The Corps Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi, expressed the determination during a recent visit to the facility with members of the Management team of the Corps .

Conducting the Corps Marshal and the Management team round the plant, the Deputy Corps Marshal in charge of Motor Vehicle Administration, Theophilus Charles, said that all necessary equipment needed for the full take off of the plant are being installed in line with the specifications, while the personnel deployed for the project are being given appropriate training to prepare them adequately for the professional service they would render.

He assured that with the level of work already carried out, the scheduled time for the inauguration would be met, saying all the personnel have been adequately mobilised for the task.

“The plant would not just be producing the signage, but its products would meet international specifications and would address the present deficit in signage as is being noticed on most parts of the nation’s highways today,” he stated.

In his remarks, Oyeyemi expressed satisfaction with the level of work already done preparatory to the commissioning, saying when fully operational, the signage from the plant would resolve the present shortage of traffic signage on most highways in the country. He further stressed that the plant is part of the FRSC’s practical demonstration of its resolve to tackle the threats which road traffic crashes pose to road users with lack of traffic signage being a major causative factor.

In order to ensure smooth commissioning, the Corps Marshal directed the head of the centre to take all necessary measures that could meet the targets of the commissioning as scheduled, stating that all administrative and management challenges capable of hindering the plans should be brought immediately to his attention for prompt action.
