Ford hosts transport month webinar with industry leaders Thursday

Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa (FMCSA) will, Thursday, October 29,  host what promises to be an engaging and informative webinar to coincide with Transport Month this October. The webinar will also be relevant to the impact of COVID-19 on driving behaviour and social conduct.

Speaker line-up and areas of focus for the webinar include;

Willem Groenewald, CEO of the Automobile Association of South Africa (AASA), who will discuss efforts to promote road and driver safety in general, and the role of the AA, which was established in 1930 to protect road users. He will also speak on the importance of driver and pedestrian safety education in the country.

Neale Hill, Managing Director of Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa will discuss Ford Mobility, which aims to enable equitable solutions to cities’ most pressing mobility issues and promote innovation in addressing them. Neale will discuss exciting developments in mobility, like geofencing, improvements in data integrity, safety, efficiency and driver experience.

Eugene Herbert, CEO and COO of MasterDrive, will discuss the Ford Driving Skills for Life (Ford DSFL) programme. MasterDrive’s and the DFSL’s efforts are especially relevant in the context of COVID-19, when many drivers find that not having been behind the wheel much in months leaves them feeling unsettled and even anxious.

Helena Nel, Industrial Psychologist at Imaginate People Advisory will discuss how COVID-19 has affected the “stress dynamic” of the workplace and aspects of life, like commuting. Helena will also explain how employers and team leaders can ensure that an element of humanity is retained in helping employees adjust to such changes.

The webinar is scheduled to start at 2pm South African time.
