Coscharis Motors Unveils 2016 Ford Explorer, Figo Sedan, Launches ‘Ford Protect’

Leading Ford dealership in Nigeria, Coscharis Motors, Tuesday in Lagos, unveiled the 2016 models of the fast-selling luxury SUV, Ford Explorer and the entry-level sedan, Ford Figo.

And for the first time in the country, Ford Figo, which used to come in hatchback, now comes as a sedan due to popular demand and the need to rise up to competition in that segment of the market.

The two leading models were unveiled after a media briefing at the newly-renovated Akin Adesola, Victoria Island , Lagos showroom of Coscharis Ford by the General Manager, Marketing and Corporate Services, Coscharis Group, Mr. Abiona Babarinde, who was flanked at the ceremony by the General Manager, Aftersales, Ford, Coscharis Motors, Mr. Varsant Rele and the Sales Manager, Ford, Coscharis Motors, Mr. Fabian Anuforo.

The ceremony was also used by Coscharis Motors to formally introduce the after-sales and customer-friendly “Ford Protect” campaign into the Nigerian market.

Hitherto known as the ESP, the Ford Protect features free service for four years or up to 120,000 kilometres (whichever comes first) on all Ford brands purchased at any Coscharis Motors showrooms across the country. It also comes with free oil change, wiper blades change, tyre rotation, oil and filter change, among others during the period.

Speaking on the significance of the introduction of the 2016 Ford Explorer and Figo into the Nigerian market as well as the Ford Protect campaign, Mr. Babarinde said it goes a lot to show the commitment of Coscharis Motors to the promotion of the Ford brand in the country.

“Our representation of Ford in Nigeria is unrivalled. We are proud to say that the 2016 Ford Explorer and Ford Figo are here today. We love our brand and we want you to feel it,” he said.

Explaining the unique features of the 2016 Ford Explorer,

Mr. Anuforo said the Explorer SLT, which has almost sold out, comes with improved features among which are keyless entry and a wider fog lamp than that of the 2015 model .He added that the 2016 Explorer also has a front camera with which the driver could see objects far off even before getting to the objects.

On the Figo, he said “The 2014/15 model is hatchback while the 2016 model is sedan.”

The event also featured a facility tour of the newly-renovated showroom and the ultra-modern 3-bay Quick Service Centre which, according to Mr. Rele, can handle about 250 vehicles every month. A test-drive of the new Ford Explorer and Ford Figo as well as the Ford Ranger, which was also displayed at the ceremony, followed the facility tour.
