Jaguar’s first ever family Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) will be officially unveiled in Nigeria by Coscharis Motors on July 21 at the Eko Hotel & Suites in Lagos, according to a statement obtained by AUTO REPORT AFRICA on Wednesday. The statement said the unveiling will be done in partnership with Tech+ during an exclusive dinner opening ceremony for event partners.
Currently, the F Pace has become the manufacturer’s fastest-selling vehicle. In the first 10 months on sale, more than 14,000 orders have been placed, with all 2,000 First Edition vehicles sold out. The Jaguar F-PACE is Jaguar’s first performance crossover and its lightweight body structure comprises 80 per cent aluminium. It is the only aluminium-intensive design in its sector and is manufactured at Jaguar Land Rover’s Solihull Plant in the UK.
The statement quoted the Jaguar Land Rover Marketing Manager, Cletus Aregbeshola , as saying that as Coscharis Motors prepares to unveil the F-PACE to customers and motoring press, a follow up test drive plan has been scheduled for the last week of July, especially for customers who would have indicated interest during the launch.
The foundation of the new Jaguar Lifestyle Pillar, F-PACE is the third vehicle built from Jaguar’s Advanced Lightweight Aluminium Architecture and Jaguar’s Performance SUV – a breakthrough, transformational product for the brand. Combining an optimum blend of Performance, Seduction and Practicality, F-PACE will be the Ultimate Practical Sports Car, competing directly against the Porsche Macan and BMW X4.
“The All-New F-PACE is a Jaguar that customers around the world demanded that we make. The targets we set are among the most challenging we’ve ever had to deliver but I’m proud to say that the All-New F-PACE meets or exceeds every one of them,” Kevin Stride, Vehicle Line Director, Jaguar F-PACE, also said in the statement.
“This is a performance SUV with outstanding dynamics yet also delivers a smooth, quiet ride. The F-TYPE-inspired design combines dramatic looks with a spacious interior and an exceptionally large luggage compartment. Together with our All-New infotainment system, our most advanced all-wheel drive system and an outstanding range of active safety technologies, the All-New F-PACE makes every journey a better, more rewarding experience.”
Targeted at the emerging and fast evolving segment of medium premium SUV’s and crossovers – the fastest growing segment in the industry – F-PACE will attract new customers to the Brand: younger, more females, more families, with an active lifestyle. 94% of customers are expected to come from other brands. The F Pace is built to strongly appeal to customers in key emerging markets.
