Whoever packaged Tuesday’s visit of CIG Motors Managing Director, Mr. Felix Lee, to the Director General of National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Mr. Jelani Aliyu, must have done a pretty good job. Lee, who paid a visit to the Abuja headquarters of NADDC to congratulate Aliyu on his recent appointment apparently went well-prepared as he wasted no time in speaking ‘long grammar’ during the visit.
He must have been briefed that Aliyu is an industrial designer of international repute who is recognised globally for his exploits at General Motors in the U.S. and only a well-rehearsed presentation would really get him moved. Lee, therefore, went straight into action with his presentation of his company SUV and he apparently ‘stole’ the show during the visit.
Lee, who must have gone to Abuja with a well- rehearsed brief, went straight to business as he used the opportunity to introduce, to Aliyu, one of the products of his company, the GAC GS8 SUV, assembled through SKD operations at the Lagos plant of CIG Motors.
“We are in Nigeria for business,” he must have told himself before embarking on the visit and that, exactly, was his message for the NADDC boss as he teased his hosts with the beautiful SUV to convince Nigerians that the Chinese automaker is really here to stay.
