Bluewater, a world-leading provider of sustainable water purification solutions, welcomed HRH The Duke of Gloucester KG GCVO, to the Clepington Road EV Charging Oasis in Dundee, Scotland, on Wednesday. The Duke’s visit, at the invitation of Dundee City Council, aimed to showcase the city’s commitment to becoming one of the UK’s most sustainable cities via the deployment of state-of-the-art low-carbon infrastructure.

During the visit, the Duke had the opportunity to witness firsthand the innovative Bluewater hydration stations. Two of these stations, strategically placed at the hub, utilize Bluewater’s advanced patented reverse osmosis technology to purify water of all known contaminants, ensuring a continuous supply of purer, healthier, planet-friendly drinking water for all users.

Bluewater’s solutions also help to reduce pressure on municipal water resources by leveraging advanced rainwater harvesting capability. Rainwater that falls on the on-site solar canopy is collected and processed using multiple stages of advanced water filtration and purification technologies to create chilled and purified drinking water vended from the two on-site Bluewater dispensers. This sustainable approach not only helps conserve precious water resources but also contributes to tackling the global water crisis.

The Duke of Gloucester was presented with a personalized Bluewater refillable bottle by Bluewater UK Managing Director, Philip Russell (pictured below with the Duke). The gesture symbolizes the company’s dedication to promoting healthy hydration while reducing single-use plastic waste. The water provided by Bluewater’s stations is free from contaminants such as chemicals and microplastics, thanks to the utilization of Bluewater’s cutting-edge SuperiorOsmosis™ second-generation RO system.

“We are honored to have our advanced drinking water technologies installed in this state-of-the-art project in Dundee, and delighted that the site has attracted a Royal visit”, said Philip Russell. He said Bluewater’s goal is to make sustainable water solutions accessible and convenient for everyone worldwide.

“By designing solutions that have the capability to work with harvested rainwater, we not only promote responsible water consumption but also continue our global commitment to ending reliance on the production and transport of single-use plastic bottled beverages”, Mr. Russell added.

Bluewater’s commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship aligns with the increasing demand for eco-conscious solutions. The Swedish company’s holistic approach to water purification, utilizing advanced technologies, ensures that EV drivers and members of the local community in Dundee have access to clean and pure drinking water while contributing to reducing plastic waste.
