Autolady Begins CNG/LPG Auto Conversion Training for Technicians Across Nigeria in August

An indigenous auto mechanical engineering company, Autolady Engineering Technology Limited,  said it has concluded arrangements for  the training of 1,000 technicians and other interested Nigerians across the country on how to convert petrol vehicles to gas-powered engines .

The training, according to the company,  will also teach participating auto technicians different maintenance techniques for converted vehicles to mitigate the adverse effects of the current fuel price hike on Nigerians.

Specifically targeted at  experienced auto technicians and other interested Nigerians, the intensive training, will kick off in  Lagos for one week and will be followed by workshop attachment for professional proficiency and certification.

The overall objective of the training is to empower auto technicians and other interested Nigerians with the required technical know-how on safe autogas conversion using Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as a more affordable option in the face of the current rising fuel costs in the country .

CEO, Autolady Engineering Technology Limited, Joyce Daser-Adams, explained that  the training is also a measure taken to
accelerate the Federal Government’s Autogas Policy aimed at achieving its 2060 Net-zero carbon reduction agenda .

It is believed that by the year 2030, cars-on-gas adoption would have significantly contributed to mitigating the impact of climate change as well as meet the targets of the National Gas Expansion Programme (NGEP).

It is important to note that two years ago, Autolady Engineering collaborated with other technical partners to offer free training to over 150 technicians across the country on autogas conversion and converted vehicles for several organisations in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

These organisations include the Nigerian Police, Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria ( COREN), Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and many others .

In preparation for the forthcoming programme, Autolady Engineering has opened its portal for interested auto mechanics and technicians across Nigeria to register for the training which commences in August from Lagos before moving to Abuja and PortHarcourt. The registration for the train programme could be done @ https://autogasnigeria.com/cng-pg-auto-conversion-training-and-certification-programme/

Meanwhile, stakeholders in the automotive sector have joined the call for the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), NGEP and the various State Governments to support the training programme by collaborating with and supporting  the current initiative to reduce the cost of the training as well as that of the conversion kits for the participating technicians .

This, the industry stakeholders maintain, has become necessary because of the  high cost of conversion of petrol/diesel vehicles to autogas, which has been an issue of major concern since the launch of NGEP.
