ATLAS SECURITY BOOSTS LOCAL FLEET WITH CHEVROLET UTILITY

Top Port Elizabeth security firm, Atlas Security, recently took ownership of nine Chevrolet Utilities, boosting their fleet to 90.

The purchase, according to a statement obtained by AUTO REPORT AFRICA, forms part of a business decision by Atlas to boost their growing fleet and to increase service delivery, in addition to replacing older vehicles owing to wear and tear.

Atlas General Manager, Craig Kerr, said in the statement issued in Port Elizabeth: “We purchased about 28 Utility vehicles previously in total which have proven to be reliable and robust for a 24-hour fleet. We have found that the running costs of these vehicles have exceeded our expectations in terms of efficiency.”

Kerr said because the Atlas armed-response fleet is a 24-hour operation, they need vehicles to respond to incidents timeously as vehicles are dispatched to all alarm activations and, in some cases, vehicles are only turned off a few times a day.

“We have found that the Chevrolet Utility is best in its class for our purposes, providing our armed response officers with a safe, reliable and speedy vehicle in which to best go about their duties,” he added.

According to Kerr, the Chevrolet Utility is fuel efficient, easy to drive, comfortable and cost-effective to maintain.

Williams Hunt Port Elizabeth Dealer Principal, Trevor Villet, said the Chevrolet Utility remains one of the most sought after vehicles on the showroom floor.

“We are confident that Atlas Security will get good returns on their investment. We remain committed to our customers and look forward to offering them complete peace of mind during their ownership,” he said.

Excited at the development, General Motors South Africa (GMSA) vice president for vehicles sales, service and marketing, Brian Olson, added to Villet’s sentiments, saying that consumers don’t just buy a vehicle, they have high expectations in terms of what else is packaged with it to ensure peace of mind.

“Our mission at GM is to earn customers for life by delivering a consistently satisfying ownership experience. Chevrolet Complete Care plays a critical role in the total ownership experience of all Chevrolet vehicles sold,” said Olson.
