Regional Minister visits WestPark, assesses progress on ongoing construction works

Ghana’s Western Regional Minister, Dr. Kwabena Okyere Darko-Mensah, has visited the WestPark to assess level of progress on ongoing construction works.

Commenting on the importance of the Region to the country’s economy during the visit, the Minister said,  “the Western Region, with its vast natural resources and skilled workforce, contributes 60 per cent  to Ghana’s economy, ” adding, “With the construction of the WestPark, and leading companies like Germany’s Bosch and DHL as tenants, the region is now home to an industrial hub with competitive operating costs and links to regional and global markets”.

During the visit, the Minister met with members of the community, the WestPark team and representatives of Consar, who are building roads and other iinfrastructure in the area.

Designed to become Africa’s first solar-powered business and industrial park, the 405-acre facility being developed by the Black Ivy Group, is located at the Yabiw Free Zone Enclave in Takoradi.
