Germany’s Flörsch Becomes First Woman to Earn Points in F3 Race

German driver Sophia Flörsch became the first women to earn points in Formula Three racing on Sunday, by finishing ninth in Austria.

“I am very happy to earn my first two points,” Flörsch said in an Instagram video.

The 22-year-old from the Alpine team rose from 21st on the grid into the points in what she named “a messy race” on her favourite track, the Red Bull Ring.The result came the day after Flörsch had to settle for 19th in a sprint race in Spielberg. She is the only woman in the F3 series.
