Young Nigerian Researcher makes 2019 Green Talents Awards list

A young Researcher from Nigeria, Emmanuel Olamijuwon, has emerged one of the 25 winners of the 2019 Green Talents Awards.

Organised by the German Ministry of Education and Research, the Green Talents Awards competition is an event that awards young international researchers for their works in making our societies more sustainable, in any area of studies.

OLAMIJUWON is a Ph.D Student in Demography and Population Studies and his Research focus was Sexual and reproductive health, digital demography and adolescent health.

This October, the 25 awardees of this year’s Green Talents Competition from around the world would be visiting Germany to present and discuss their projects in the field of sustainable development with German elite researchers during a two-week expedition to sustainability hotspots.

The jury lauded the value of Emmanuel’s project for the sexual health awareness of young people in African countries.­

His research, according to the jury, could also contribute to a wider access to sexual and
reproductive health care information services and education.
