2018 Rand Show to Feature Inaugural ‘House of Horrors’

The 2018 edition of the annual Rand Show is to feature a new addition, House of Horrors, to its entertainment line-up.  The Rand Show organisers described the House of Horrors as experiential theatre for those who live life on the edge and are not afraid to face their fears.

“We are very excited to add the House of Horrors to the Rand Show’s attractions, it is always wonderful to add new elements that will thrill our audience” Craig Newman, CEO of the Johannesburg Expo Centre, said. “This attraction is not for the faint-hearted and is designed for visitors who are prepared to journey into the unknown.”

The 2018 Rand Show is scheduled to hold from Friday 30 March – Sunday 8 April 2018 at the Johannesburg Expo Centre, Nasrec. Visitors to the House of Horrors will come face to face with fears that will leave them breathless in the dead of the night as extraordinary characters will be brought to life through multimedia and special effects set in a tangible environment.

Due to the hyper-realism of the House of Horrors, the organisers said  no persons under 13 years will be admitted to the experience and it is recommended that children between the ages of 13 and 16 years be accompanied by an adult, with entrance to the House of Horrors to attract  an additional charge,

Since its inception in 1894, the Rand Show has become one of South Africa’s largest and most iconic consumer events and is a highlight in the annual events calendar. The Rand Show has entertained multiple generations of South African families attracting over 200 000 visitors annually. Frequently referred to as Johannesburg’s Biggest Day out, 2018 promises to prove yet again why the Rand Show has been in existence for 124 years.
