The Porsche Panamera Platinum Edition has entered the Nigerian auto market, courtesy of The Porsche Centre Lagos, its main distributor in the country.

The Porsche’s most recent model which is classified as a ‘Grand Turismo’ was unveiled at a media launch in Lagos last week.
Though a Limited Edition which offers exceptional value and luxury to the discerning motoring enthusiast, the new luxury road machine is valued at N22.5 million, which is N10 million lesser than the normal price of a Porsche Panamera.

The Brand Manager, The Porsche Centre Lagos, Mr. Michael Wagner, who disclosed this at the event, said the reduction in the price is to allow many lovers of the car have it an affordable price.

He however said prospective customers who drive home any of the Panamera range will be privileged to go on a guided tour to the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany with a business class return ticket as well as being shown round the Porsche Travel Club Black Forest Day along with three nights free accommodation at the Radisson Hotel, Stuttgart.

Wagner also added that customers can alternatively get an option of 24 carat gold plated Porsche Blackberry phone with the customer’s name engraved on it. It is worthy to note that Porsche has steadily been bolstering its Panamera line since the car was first introduced adding models like the V6, Hybrid and GTS.

Also available as Panamera 4, the Platinum Edition stands out with its subtle, independent design features in platinum silver metallic combined and expanded standard features with exclusive details.
The lower half of the side view mirrors, the air-inlet grille lamellas; the air vent grille on the side which is designed specifically for the turbo model with the trim on the trunk lid and the rear diffuser are all in platinum silver metallic.  This is in addition to the interplay with one of the Edition’s five exterior finish colours that result in an especially harmonious and elegant appearance.  The solid exterior colours are offered in black or white with the options of metallic basalt black, metallic carbon grey and metallic mahogany lacquer finishes.
The black glossy finish used for the side window strips creates a convincing overall exterior appearance with many frequently requested extras now coming as standard equipment in the Platinum Edition.  The  latest Porsche Panamera  also comes with  automatically dimming interior and exterior mirrors that reduce glare from traffic behind just as the 19-inch Panamera Turbo alloy wheels with red, black and gold Porsche crest  highlight the sporty elegance of the vehicle.

The new black/luxor beige bi-colour combination also creates an especially sumptuous interior ambience and exclusively for the Panamera Platinum Edition is a part-leather interior package which comes as standard with a full optional leather package.
Compared to the previous bi-colour detailing, the new bi-colour combination patterns have been revised.

The upper part of the dashboard and the door trim, the footwell and the back of the front seats as well as the loadspace cover are in black, while the remainder of the interior is in luxor beige.

Other highlights include the standard sport design steering wheel and the distinctive Porsche crest on the front and rear headrests as well as the insignia “Platinum Edition” on the front door trim strips.
