The National Automotive Design And Development Council (NADDC) of Nigeria appears to be moving ahead in its determination to boost the study of Mechatronics in institutions of higher learning across the country through its fully-sponsored auto test centres in three of the nation’s polytechnics and vocational centres.

Last week, NADDC took delivery of the first set of imported equipment and tools for the auto test centre projects and the supplies were delivered at the Vehicle Emission Testing Centre of the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Ikorodu, Lagos to the admiration of the authorities and students of the school.

NADDC sources disclosed that more equipment are still being expected for installation at the Materials and Vehicle Evaluation Test Centre in Zaria, Kaduna State as well as the Auto Components Test Centre in Enugu as the two centres, along with that of the Vehicle Emission Testing Centre at LASPOTECH, are scheduled to be inaugurated later in the year once the installation of the equipment and training of staff to man them have been completed.
