‘Best in Class 2015’ – after evaluation of all the results, the Mercedes-Benz GLC has received the coveted award in the Euro NCAP Rating. As the best- in- class, the new SUV takes the lead in the “Small Off-Roader” category. The GLC is the second vehicle from Mercedes-Benz to come out on top in vehicle safety assessments; in 2014 the C-Class was awarded the title ‘Best in Class’.
The GLC already received five Euro NCAP stars in December 2015 for the combined evaluation of occupant safety, child safety, pedestrian protection and assistance systems.
The basis for the top result is the effective interaction of active and passive safety systems with the most modern driver assistance systems, an extremely stable safety passenger compartment and efficient restraint systems.
Almost all of the driver assistance systems familiar from the C-Class, E-Class and S-Class are available in the new GLC. These systems, in accordance with the Intelligent Drive concept, combine data from different sensors such as camera and radar. This provides for a clear increase in comfort and safety.
In addition to the requirements of the Euro NCAP Rating, the PRE-SAFE® and ATTENTION ASSIST systems were awarded two so-called “Advanced Rewards” by Euro NCAP.
