Ogun State governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has commended the efforts of the State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in managing road traffic in the state.

The governor gave the commendation when the State Sector Commander, Corps Commander Clement Oladele, paid him a courtesy visit in his office at Oke-Mosan Government House in Abeokuta, the state capital.

The governor also promised to give firm support to all FRSC initiatives in the state, saying this has become necessary in view of the high rate of vehicular traffic on roads passing through the state.

The Sector Commander had, earlier on the visit, intimated Gov. Amosun of the initiatives of the Corps in the State, especially the ongoing campaign on the installation of speed limiters, saying the FRSC will not go back on the Jan. 1, 2017 enforcement date.

He also briefed the governor on the plans of the State Sector Command to reduce the rate of road traffic crashes in the state in order to remove the name of the state from the list of states with high accident rates in the country.

Only recently, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, assured the State Sector Command of support for all FRSC initiatives in the state even as he promised to personally lead the campaign on the installation of speed limiters on all commercial vehicles operating in Ogun State.

Corps Commander Oladele’s recent visit to the state governor was part of the ongoing moves by the new sector Commander to forge strategic partnerships in pushing through FRSC goals and objectives in the state.
